How We Started Teaching Money Differently
Back in 2018, I kept meeting people who felt completely lost about money. Smart professionals who could manage complex projects at work but froze when it came to their own finances. The problem wasn't their intelligence — it was that no one had ever taught them the actual steps.
Most financial advice felt either too academic or too salesy. People needed something in between: practical education that respected their time and intelligence. So we started small — weekend workshops in Sydney, focusing on the fundamentals that banks and investment firms often skip over.
What surprised us was how hungry people were for this kind of straightforward approach. By 2020, we were running monthly sessions. By 2023, we'd helped over 2,000 Australians build their financial literacy from the ground up.
